The Soccer Journey

Authors Note: This is going to be a very un-formal page. Where I basically just journal and write my thoughts. This piece is about my soccer career.

Ever since I was four or five I've played soccer for Pewaukee Soccer Club.  By the time I was in 5th grade select had started up  and I had been placed on the B team.  After struggling for a year to play with people that were much worse than me, it was  time for tryouts again. After 2 days of 2 hour tryouts I was again originally put on the B team. After 2 girls that were put on  the A team left to go to Waukesha the A team's coach and the B team's coach were fighting over me. All though I would have  much rather been on the A team I was mis-placed again and suffered another year with some not very good players.  Once  you enter 7th grade select your team roster changes from 12 to 18 players and finally I had made the team. The new coach  for our grade had finally realized sometng that the old A team coach hadn't. I was a very good player. Through out the  season I had made my way to top and was given the captains band almost every game. I was finally happy with my soccer  team.  Then the club announced  that we were merging with Sussex Soccer Club.

While all of this was happening LCU's U13 girls coach Marcio announced that he was switching to SC Waukesha.  All of  Marcio's team loved him as a coach. They decided to go with Marcio and tryout for SC Waukesha. After SC Waukesha  realized that LCU's premier/ A team was trying out they decided to have two premier/ A teams. When I found this out I knew  I could make one of these teams. I told two of the other good players on my team and when it was time to tryout we all  went to SC Waukesha along with Pewaukee Sussex United tryouts. When the results came in we had found out all three of  us had made the A team for both clubs and we had to make a decision. We didn't know whether or not to stay at Pewaukee  Sussex United with our friends or to go to SC Waukesha which is a better team.  After time Savannah, Claire, and I made a  decision to play with SC Waukesha.

Months have gone by since I have been on SC Waukesha, and I know I made the right choice. I love all of the girls on my  team and love hanging out with them. Not only am I glad to be on this team for friends, but I am also glad because we are  pretty good.  We are in 1st place in the best league in Wisconsin,  and we are hoping to get invited to State in Spring.

Jesse

Every since I was little, I had constantly fought with my brother Jesse. More than my other brothers. I think the problem was we are to similar; in the way that we are both crabs. We would fight over the computer, the tv, anything! My solution was just to ignore them. Until Jesse got medicine I could not stay in a room with him.

Jesse has a very creative mind. He's always coming up with new ideas. In one day he wanted to start three businesses. But I didn't really know this side of him until he stepped of his computer for his senior year.

Last year which was his senior year we got really close. He would help me with math which I desperately needed while in Aleks. We would go Kayaking, to dinner, or even try to catch bunnies. I would step on Jesse's back to crack it and he would massage mine.  But when summer ended it was time for Zach and him to head to college and I was left in the dust with just Tanner.

Since Jesse has left I have been missing him so much; or maybe just his back massages. It's hard to get my math done, and when ever I'm home I'm board out of my mind. But he's doing great in college, and he's having fun! Jesse also won an eating competition and free pizza for a semester and an ipad.  Which I suggested he should do since he could down 50 packets of ramen noodles in like an hour. I'm  happy Jesse's having fun in college, I'm just bummed he's having fun without me.

  1. I like the voice of the soccer piece. It is informative, and well done. It especially accomplishes your goal of writing about something that you actually care about.
